The Power of Symbolism

It gives shape to what words sometimes cannot express. A single image can carry years of meaning, generations of struggle, and the quiet strength of survival. Every symbol, whether ancient or personal, bold or quiet, was chosen with intention. Together, they tell a story of pain endured, resilience earned, and the unbreakable thread that connects those who refuse to quit.

Brotherhood in the Battle

The front side features the mighty Kraken entwined with the Spartan helmet—a powerful symbol of unbreakable discipline, courage, and the brotherhood that stands shoulder to shoulder in every fight.

Spartans knew that their true strength was in each other, facing every battle as one. This side of the coin is a reminder that you don’t have to face your challenges alone. It captures the essence of resilience and solidarity, the spirit of fighting together.

The Strength from Within:

The backside you’ll find the Kraken in its full glory—an embodiment of raw power, resilience, and the ability to thrive under the most intense pressure.

The Kraken symbolizes your inner strength to rise, adapt, and push through, no matter how insurmountable the odds feel. These two sides reflect the same journey: the fight within
and the support around you.

Forged in Struggle - Strengthened By Brotherhood:

This Isn’t Just a Coin. It’s a Promise. Together, both sides of the coin speak to a single, powerful truth. One side reminds you that healing happens alongside others, that the strength of brotherhood, solidarity, and shared struggle can carry you through even the darkest battles. The other side reflects what lives deep within you, the quiet force, the untamed will, and the unshakable resilience that refuses to break. Whether drawn from those who stand beside you or summoned from the depths of your own spirit, strength takes many forms. This coin honors them all.

Every Mark Has Meaning: The Story Behind the Coin:

The Day Everything Changed:

On May 19th, I handed a coin I had carried for over a year to my child. That small act shattered and strengthened me at the same time. I couldn’t fix things, but I could give them something to hold onto. That coin had been my quiet anchor through the darkest moments. Now, I hoped it would be theirs.

The Aftermath:

What came after wasn’t peace. It was a storm.
Nightmares. Panic. A mind stuck on repeat. I was going through the motions, but inside I was unraveling. The pain wasn’t new. It had just finally surfaced.

The Octopus:

I had someone I talked to on long walks over the years. No advice. No judgment. Just presence. But after May 19th,  I needed more. I needed someone who would help hold the line.

Weeks later, I saw a sign in a quirky little store:
“A true friend sticks like an octopus to your face.”
It made me laugh. Then it made me cry. That’s what they were. An Octopus. The one who will stand with me in the breach in the middle of the chaos.

The Kraken is Born

To me, the Kraken isn’t a monster. It’s a guardian. A symbol of the ones who wrap around us in our darkest moments and refuse to let go. The ones who show up, stay close, and fight beside us.

The Spartan Within

Growing up as the son and brother of U.S. Marines and walking alongside Gold Star families and veterans, I have always been drawn to the image of the Spartan.

Not the perfect warrior.
The one who is cracked, bleeding, and tired, but still standing in the breach.
Behind them is everything they love.
In front of them, the unknown.
And still, they stay.

Ready for the next battle.

The Coin of Resilience

Some battles are silent.  Some scars are invisible.  But the Kraken teaches resilience. The Spartan teaches strength through unity.  The coin?  It reminds us to reach for your octopus, your tribe, because even warriors need someone to help hold the line.
